Entrepreneurship Development Program for PU-1 Boys

Sri Ramakrishna Vidyarthi Mandiram (SRVM) successfully launched its much-anticipated “Entrepreneurship Development Program” for PU-1 boys. This inspiring initiative, driven by the vision and generosity of our esteemed alumni Dr. Sripad Naik and Sri. Ranjit Nayak from the 1984-86 batch, aims to foster entrepreneurial instincts among our students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to tackle real-world challenges within their communities.

The inaugural session, which took place on Sunday, June 23, 2024, was held in a hybrid format, accommodating both online and offline participants. The event was hosted at Shraddha (AV Room) on the SRVM campus, creating a vibrant and interactive environment for all attendees.

The primary goal of the Entrepreneurship Development Program is to blend the rich tapestry of Indic knowledge with modern entrepreneurial principles. This unique approach is designed to empower SRVM students to identify and solve pressing issues within their communities, thereby creating a positive and lasting impact.

About the Speakers

Dr. Sripad Naik: Dr. Sripad Naik is a distinguished scientist and head of the Numerical Modelling Department at the National Institute of Rock Mechanics (Ministry of Mines, Government of India). He graduated in Mining Engineering from NIT Surathkal in 1990 and obtained his master’s degree from IIT BHU. He completed his PhD from NITK Surathkal in 2007. With extensive expertise in numerical modeling and instrumentation in mining and civil engineering, Dr. Naik has tackled numerous challenging problems in hydroelectric projects, coal mine methods, and subsidence. His contributions to sophisticated research techniques and geotechnical instrumentation work have been widely recognized, with over 60 technical papers published in national and international journals and conferences.

Sri. Ranjit Nayak: Sri. Ranjit Nayak, currently the Director of Product Management at YfSA, brings a wealth of experience in the technology sector. He co-founded a cloud computing billing and metering company, where he was instrumental in driving investor pitches, managing customer implementations, and growing the company’s monthly recurring revenue. His career includes notable roles in product management, product marketing, and leadership at some of the biggest names in technology. Sri. Nayak is passionate about perfecting SaaS product value propositions, building products, and creating strong ecosystems to support them. His expertise spans envisioning product experiences, articulating product value, competitive analysis, go-to-market strategies, and leading cross-functional teams.
