 Dear Mandiram Boy,

We choose to address you by no other name as we refuse to accept any adjectives however high, with which you have been adorned in the course of time. Like a loving mother who nurtured you in her lap for a period however short it may appear now, this Mandiram sees you as the same boy who once lived in its bosom. The Serious hours spent in studies, the merry moments lost in play, the fun, the mischief, the love and affection, all that have apparently slipped back into oblivion, need just a mention to burst forth into a myriad of memories losing oneself in the wondrous days of youth. Shall we then bring some news about a place, with which you had strong bonds of love?

Some of the projects completed for the last 2 years at SRVM with thankful contributions from old students and well wishers of SRVM are as follows:

1. Swami Ritatmananda Hall.

This is a multi-purpose hall (dimension of 60 ft by 120 ft) constructed on top of the dining hall with a seating capacity of around 1000 people. It was completed last year and was inagurated on Sep 14, 2006. It is being used to conduct functions, conducting coaching classes for inmates, indoor games (shuttle badminton).

2. New overhead tank.

A new overhead tank of capacity of 50,000 litres was constructed.

3. Two guest rooms

Two guest rooms were constructed below the water tank area to accommodate old students who visit SRVM to stay as guests for a short period.

4. Library and computer room

The library room has been completely revamped with wooden racks and cabinets for arranging books.

The library room also houses a separate computer room for students wherein 12 computers are commissioned.

5. Dining hall

The dining hall was expanded including the old gymnasium room to accommodate the increased capacity of inmates with marble flooring. Marble was ordered from Rajasthan. Warden swamiji visited the place and selected the best colour and quality.

6. Wash area outside dining hall revamped

Wash area has been renovated to look more asthetic by providing more taps wherein 35 students can wash plates at a time.

7. Bath rooms and toiles in the ground floor revamped and expanded.

Both bath rooms and toilets doubled in number.

8. Conversion of old recreation hall to 3 new rooms.

The recreation hall in first floor has been converted to three new rooms. Now, the total strength of inmates is around 110 from the academic year 2007.

Some more development works need to be undertaken:

1. Revamping the bath rooms and toiles in first floor (under progress)

2. Water proofing the terrace area to prevent leakage.

3. Cement plastering the inner walls.

The pending works have been slowed down due to paucity of funds.
